Oud-Heverlee Leuven promoted to the First Division

Oud-Heverlee Leuven has won the Second Division Play-off to gain a place in next season’s Belgian First Division. A 1-0 victory away at KAS Eupen was enough to seal it for OHL that return to the First Division after an absence of just one season.

Oud-Heverlee Leuven and KAS Eupen were the only two teams still in with a chance, although Eupen would have needed to win Sunday afternoon’s game to gain promotion.

Eupen pushed forwarded but was thwarted by a well-organised OHL.

OHL had a goal disallowed in the first half, but this didn’t dampen their spirits as Kostovski scored a valid goal on 62 minutes.

After that, an out of sorts Eupen never looked like scoring one let alone the two goals they would need for victory and promotion to the top flight. The match ended 1-0 to OHL. It will be party time in Leuven once the team and the fans return from Eupen.
