De Lijn drivers’ strike, urban areas worst hit
Today is the second day of a four-day strike by drivers that are members of the socialist and liberal trades unions at the Flemish public transport company De Lijn. The disruption is greatest on routes in towns and cities. Drivers that are members of the Christian trades union and those working for sub-contractors are not taking part in the strike.
This means that there are services pretty much everywhere, although their frequency is often less than normal.
De Lijn is trying where possible to deploy drivers onto its most busy routes.
