Local police to get Tasers in pilot project
Local police forces across Belgium will soon have Tasers at their disposal. These instruments will allow police officers to immobilise members of the public temporarily.

Local police forces have been requesting access to Tasers for some time. The instrument is not as dangerous as a pistol, but still has a significant deterrent effect.
Tasers will allow officers to administer electric shocks in order to tackle obstructive individuals. The Tasers are being supplied to 30 police zones as a pilot. If the pilot is favourably evaluated, all local police forces requesting the tool will be equipped soon.
