“Enjoy the sun while it lasts”

Although its already mid-October we can still leave our winter coats at home. Temperatures on Sunday are expected to reach around 20°C, not exceptional fort his time of the year, but nevertheless welcome after what has been a cool start to the autumn.

Sunday is a day that will be characterised by fine, warm weather. Central and eastern areas of the country will be treated to plenty of sunshine throughout the day.

Meanwhile, there will be cloud in the west from the early afternoon with the possibility of showers in the early evening.

The VRT’s weatherman Frank Deboosere told VRT News that “The temperatures are not exceptional for 16 October. It has already happened that there were temperatures of 20°C or more. On 18 October 2014 temperatures reached 24°C and on 22 October 2012 it was 24.5°C.

Will it last?

Sadly the fine sunny weather won’t last. According to Frank De Bossere, "Next week the wind direction will change from westerly to northerly. The weather will become changeable. During the first half of the week maximum temperatures will reach between 10°C and 13°C. So enjoy it while it last!”
