Goals galore on Saturday evening

Orlando opened the scoring for Standard on 12 minutes, only for Saadi to equalise for Kortrijk on 14 minutes.

Orlando scored his second goal of the match for Standard on 17 minutes with Kage making it 2-2 2 minutes later.

KV Kortrijk went ahead for the first time in the game thanks to a 29 minute goal from Totovytskyy on 29 minutes. A Trebel (photo above) goal on 41 minutes made for a half time score of 3-3.

The second half saw little in the way of chances with the exception of a Saadi effort for KV Kortrijk that was saved by the Standard keeper Gillet.

The match ended 3-3 meaning that Kortrijk remain unbeaten at home this season. Standard are bow (although this could change depending on Sunday’s results) with 16 points from 10 games. KV Kortrijk are 7th with 15 points.

Waasland-Beveren move of the foot of table thanks to a 4-2 home win against KAS Eupen. Waasland-Beveren open the scoring 2 minutes from half time through Marquet.

KAS Eupen enjoyed a flying start to the second half scoring twice through Ocansey on 48 and 57 minutes. However, a strong final half hour on the part of Waasland-Beveren saw them score three goals in just 7 minutes.

Schrijvers put them level on 65 minutes, Demir made it 3-2 2 minutes and Schwartz put them 4-2 up on 72 minutes.

Eupen’s Diallo was sent off on 90 minutes in what to some may have seemed to be a harsh decision on the part of referee Nicolas Laforge.

The result sees Waasland-Beveren move up to 14th place with 9 points from 10 games. KAS Eupen are bottom with 7 points.

Excel Mouscron only have won once at this season, while KRC Genk have only won once away from home. Mouscron got off to a furious start taking the lead after just 2 minutes of play through Trezeguet.

Genk took command but were too slow to draw level quickly. Eventually a Karells goal on 32 minutes made it 1-1.

However, a deflected Bizot shot on 42 minutes found the back of the net to make for a half time score of 2-1 in Excel Mouscron’s favour.

A second half goal from Karells on 78 minutes made it 2-2 which was also the final score. The result sees Excel Mouscron in 12th place with 10 points from 10 games. KRC Genk is 9th with 14 points.

2 goals in each half saw Sint-Truiden and Westerlo share the points in their game on Saturday evening. Sint-Truiden opened the scoring through Fernandes on 27 minutes.

Acolatse equalised for Westerlo on 41 minutes. Ganvoula made it 2-1 to Westerlo on 69 minutes. Boll’s (photo) 87th minute goal for Sint-Truiden made for a final score of 2-2. Westerlo’s Steven De Petter was sent off in injury time.

The result leaves Westerlo next to bottom with 8 points from 10 games. Sint-Truiden are 13th with 9 points.
