Briton in life-threatening condition after beer bike accident
A British man sustained life-threatening injuries in Ghent when he and a couple of friends got involved in an accident with a "beer bicycle" yesterday. The news was confirmed by the judicial authorities.

The beer bike was carrying a group of British persons in their thirties. In the Joseph Plateaustraat, the brakes suddenly failed. The beer bike caught speed (the Plateaustraat is situated in the city's only hilly area) and the passengers decided to jump off. However, one person fell and seriously hurt his head. He was still in a life-threatening condition this morning.
