The contaminated area around the Chernobyl nuclear reactor that exploded 30 years ago, measures 2,600 square kilometres (some 1,004 square miles). Our colleague from the online news desk, Alexander Dumarey, visited the site for the occasion of the 30th anniversary and came back with these pictures.
