KRC Genk and Burnley agree Vossen transfer
Now once a few administrative formalities have been completed Jelle Vossen will no longer been a KRC Genk player, a club he first joined when he was 11 years old.
Jelle Vossen won a league title and two Belgian Cups with Genk where he was also first team captain.
In a statement released on Monday KRC Genk said: “The club would like to thank Jelle for all his work at KRC Genk. For his many goals, his efficiency and the leading role he played in the team and also for the fact that he was able to grow from a youth team player to the captain of the first team. He serves as an example for future generations. We would like to wish him every success in his future career.”
A short while after KRC Genk’s press release, Burnley also released a press statement. “We have reached an agreement with Genk about the transfer of Jelle Vossen. Once medical tests have been completed we can finalise an agreement with the player. This is a three-year-contract.”
The Lancashire club is reported to have paid 3.5 million euro for Jelle Vossen.
