Peeping Tom wins court case
The man managed to film 14 of the underage girls in his team when they were taking a shower after a training session. Despite only getting a suspended sentence in the first instance, he appealed against the ruling, with success.
The latest verdict does not come as a surprise as Belgian courts are relatively powerless to tackle voyeurism. Lawmakers have failed to outlaw it so far, despite a majority agreeing that this should be done.
This is why prosecutors had to bring up the official charge of "an attack on a person's honour" but this is not against the law if it does not involve physical or moral violence. The secret filming of a naked individual without their permission or knowledge but without physical of moral force is not a crime, judges ruled earlier.
