Big French Wheel coming to Belgium, but "not just yet"
Belgian René Bufkens is now the proud owner of the Big Wheel of Paris. The fairground operator took official ownership of the big wheel that stands on the Place de la Concorde in Paris today.
The big wheel will be heading for Belgium, but not just yet. Mr Bufkens wants to keep the 55m high attraction where it stands for a little while longer: "We want to keep it in Paris at least until the Tour de France. When the big wheel comes to Belgium it will tour the country and stay in a different city for two months. The wheel will first visit Waregem for the racing event Waregem Koerse. My granny's from Waregem, so it's a sentimental choice."
