VRT looking at added security after Dutch attack

30/1/15 - The Flemish public broadcaster VRT is considering whether extra security is needed following an incident at the Dutch public broadcaster on Thursday. VRT spokesman Stijn Ombelets says extra measures with regard to building security are being considered.

On Thursday night an armed man entered TV news studios of the Dutch public broadcaster NOS in Hilversum (The Netherlands) taking TV News off air.

"VRT possesses an extensive system including prevention, surveillance, security and entry checks. We checked everything following the Paris attacks including the one at the newsroom of the magazine Charlie Hebdo. This process is on-going. This morning - following the events in the Netherlands - we will again consider if extra security measures are needed."
