How Rachida Aziz filled a gap in the Brussels fashion market
Rachida Aziz set up her own businesses as a fashion designer for women in Brussels. However, to achieve this, she had to take a couple of hurdles first. After all, she is female and of foreign descent. But she is happy to work in her store called 'Azira' as she feels she can make a difference by designing clothes and wearables for women wearing headscarves, she told our colleagues of Fans of Flanders.
Rachida actually tried to fill a gap in the fashion market: "I started about 7 years ago, but couldn't find what I was looking for in traditional fashion boutiques. I was wearing a head scarf then."
Her story became a major success and she now has fashion shows. "I actually don't like to be in the spotlights. But I do it because it's part of the job."
