Van Hool lands gigantic coach order from ABC Companies
Belgian coach manufacturer Van Hool has secured a record contract from ABC Companies in the United States. The firm based in Koningshooikt in Antwerp Province will supply 1,000 coaches.
The company says that this is the biggest global order in its 67-year history.
Over 300 coaches will be assembled at Van Hool's plant outside Lier. The remainder will be produced at the firm's brand new Macedonian plant in Skopje.
The contract with ABC Companies is worth 300 million euros. The coaches will be delivered between 2015 and 2017. Van Hool is now the biggest coach supplier on the US market.
Van Hool employs 4,750 in Belgium and Macedonia.
