Club Brugge second after 3-1 win

In the last two First Division games of the weekend, Club Brugge enjoyed a 3-1 win away at Sporting Lokeren, while Racing Genk finally gave their supporters something to cheer about with a 3-1 victory at home against Waasland-Beveren.

Club Brugge’s win against Sporting Lokeren on Saturday evening is important as it sees the West Flemings move up to 2nd place in the league, just three points behind the leaders Sporting Anderlecht. Club got off to a flying start with a 4th minute goal from Izquierdo.

However, Lokeren drew level 12 minutes later through Vanaken. The half ended all-square.

The turning point in the game came with Galitsios’ dismissal 20 minutes from time. With Lokeren down to 10 men, Club was left with more space and the visitors regained the lead on 73 minutes through Gedoz.

It was over and out Lokeren when Refaelov made it 3-1 to Club Brugge in the third minute of injury time.

Genk fans finally have something to cheer about

Racing Genk couldn’t have got off to a better start in their game against Westerlo.

The Limburgers were 2-up after just 7 minutes with goals from Mboyo and Gorius. Westerlo pulled one back on 13 minutes.

Racing Genk finally put the match beyond Westerlo’s reach with a Schrijvers goal on 79 minutes. The result sees Racing Genk move up to 7th place with 16 points from 11 games. Westerlo is 5th with 17 points.
