Standard drops points against Lokeren

In Sunday evening's final two Belgian First Division matches of the weekend, Standard threw away an early lead to draw one-all away at Sporting Lokeren. Later in the evening Sporting Charleroi enjoyed their second victory of the season, beating KV Mechelen 2-0.

Standard took the lead early through an Igor De Camargo goal on 7 minutes. The match remained well-balanced between the two sides, but Lokeren's inability to score meant that Standard seemed to be heading for victory.

However, a blunder saw Mbaye Leye score three minutes for time  making for full time score of 1-1.

The result sees Lokeren and Standard both on 8 points from 6 games. They are 7th and 8th respectively.

Onwards and upwards for Sporting Charleroi

Later on Sunday evening Sporting Charleroi enjoyed a 2-0 home win against KV Mechelen. Both the Zebras' goal came in the second half. With Ndongala putting the home side one-up on 64 minutes and Dewaest making it 2-0 9 minutes from time.

The result sees Sporting Charleroi move up to 9th place in the league with 7 points from 6 games. KV Mechelen is 12th with 6 points.
