Cyclists taking the Haachtsesteenweg in Haren (Brussels Region) should be extra careful. They are being confronted with a dangerous obstacle, an electricity post right in the middle of the cycle way. The post is situated just across from the Belgian Institute for Road Safety (BIVV), the local Brussels TV station TV Brussel reports.
Major road works were carried out at the Haachtsesteenweg recently. New lanes were created for cars, with the bike lanes and pavement also being renewed. There was small problem though, as the bike lane was interrupted by a post. Workers did their best to follow the original plans and finished the bike path as scheduled. A team from "Mobiel Brussel" recognises the mistake and will remove the post asap.
