Victories for KV Mechelen, Sporting Anderlecht and Zulte Waregem

There were wins for the Champions Sporting Anderlecht, KV Mechelen and Zulte Waregem in Sunday's three Belgian First Division matches. KV Mechelen came back from a goal down to beat Racing Genk 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Hyland opened the scoring for Racing Genk 8 minutes into the game. However, this failed to dishearten the home side and Malinwa equalised on 23 minutes through Hanni (photo).

The turning point in the game came just over 5 minutes from half time when KV Mechelen scored twice in a minute through Adesanya and Claes.

Racing Genk played much of the second half down to 10 men after Hyland was given his marching orders after having been given his second yellow card of the game on 54 minutes.

Buffel came the closest to pulling one back for Genk, but it was not to be and the match ended 3-1 in KV Mechelen's favour.

Late goals seal it for Anderlecht

Newly-promoted Royal Mouscron-Preuwelz proved a tougher nut to crack than the Champions Sporting Anderlecht had expected.

Anderlecht took the lead on 16 minutes through Acheampong. However, the home side then turned down the heat allowing Mouscron back into the game. The second half saw Mouscron's Badrl scored an equaliser on 63 minutes.

However, goals from Mitrovic (photo) on 76 minutes and Suarez 9 minutes from time averted what would have been the shock result of the weekend.

Zulte Waregem wins West Flemish derby

Two second half goals in two minutes were enough to give Zulte Waregem victory in Sunday evening's West Flemish derby against near-neighbours KV Kortrijk.

Zulte Waregem's goals came on 52 and 54 and were scored by the Guinean forward Idrissa Sylla.
