"The theory of everything" en "Boyhood" boven op de Bafta's

De films "The theory of everything" en "Boyhood" kapen de belangrijkste prijzen weg op de Bafta's, zowat de Britse Oscars. Zowel de film over het leven van astrofysicus Stephen Hawking als het filmexperiment "Boyhood" vallen erg hard in de smaak. Ook "The grand Budapest hotel" valt meermaals in de prijzen.

Vanavond zijn de Bafta's uitgereikt. "Boyhood" is bekroond tot beste film en versloeg daarmee "The grand Budapest hotel" van Wes Anderson, "Imitation game" van Morten Tyldum, "Birdman" van Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu en "The theory of everything" van James Marsh. De film kreeg ook de prijs voor beste regie.

Het beeldje voor de beste Britse film gaat naar "The theory of everything". Hoofdrolspeler Eddie Redmayne kaapt voor die film ook de prijs voor de beste mannelijke hoofdrol weg en ook het scenario wordt bekroond. De beste actrice is Julianne Moore voor haar rol in de film "Still Alice".

Andere grote winnaar van de Bafta's is ongetwijfeld "The grand Budapest hotel" met 5 beeldjes. De meest prestigieuze was die voor beste scenario. Daarnaast waren er ook prijzen voor beste muziek, beste make-up, beste kostuums en beste decor.

"Boyhood" kaapt overigens naast het beeldje voor de beste film ook de Bafta voor beste vrouwelijke bijrol weg (Patricia Arquette). J.K. Simmons wint als man die prijs voor zijn bijrol in "Whiplash".
