A penalty on 95 minutes breaks the spell

Club Brugge grabbed the 3 points at Stayen (Sint-Truiden) on a windy and chilly Friday evening. It was a penalty deep in stoppage time (on 95 minutes) that did it for Club Brugge: 0-1 as striker Jelle Vossen kept his cool. The penalty broke the spell for Bruges, who hadn't been able to win at Stayen since September 2006.

The match opened the 16th day of play in the top flight. Club Brugge played a poor match, which seemed to end a goalless draw, when Sint-Truiden substitute Djené caused an unnecessary penalty. Jelle Vossen took his responsibility and didn't miss: 0-1.

The result allows Club Brugge to reduce the gap with leaders Zulte Waregem to 3 points. Zulte will be playing Anderlecht in a summit match on Sunday. Sint-Truiden remain in dire straits meanwhile at the bottom of the table.
