More Champions League disappointment for Club Brugge

A penalty in the 3rd minute of stoppage time meant that Club Brugge once again failed to pick up any Champions League points. The Belgian Champions had led their match against the Portuguese side Porto for almost an hour after a 12th minute goal from Jelle Vossen. Vossen scored on the rebound. It was Club Brugge’s first Champions League goal.

After the goal Porto pushed Club Brugge back. However, the West Flemings had a great chance to make it 2-0. However, Pina’s shot lacked  the power to pose any danger.

The second half began with yet another great chance for Club Brugge.

However, Vormer shot wide. Porto’s goal came on 68 minutes through Layun. After that the Portuguese were dominant. The match seemed to be heading towards a draw.

However, Claudemir's foul on Corona resulted in a penalty in the 93rd minute of stoppage time. Silva did the honours and it was 2-1 to Porto. After 3 games Club Brugge still have no points from their Champions League campaign.
