A convincing win for Racing Genk

The first of this weekend’s Play-off I matches was played on Friday evening. Racing Genk enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 win at home against a poor KVO Oostende. The KVO fans that had travelled the breadth of the country to follow their team were treated to a times lacklustre performance. Although KVO created chances they failed to convert. It was a very different story for Racing Genk.

Genk opened the scoring on 12 minutes through Pozeulo with Buffel making it 2-0 9 minutes later. Racing Genk’s remaining goals came in the second half with Samatta making it 3-0 on 77 minutes and Kebano putting the Limburgers 4-0 5 minutes from time.

The result sees Genk move up to within 4 points op 3rd-placed Sporting Anderlecht who play tomorrow. Racing Genk is 4th in Play-off I with 27 points. KV Oostende have slipped back to 5th place and have 25 points after a disappointing start to their first ever Play-off I campaign.
