David Goffin reaches last 4 at Indian Wells

Belgium's tennis ace David Goffin continues his excellent run in Indian Wells, California. Goffin has now reached the last 4 by beating Croatia's Marin Cilic in straight sets in the quarter-finals.

In the last 16, Goffin had posted his first ever win against a top-5 player, by ousting Stanislas Wawrinka, a double Grand Slam winner. In-form Goffin, the world's number 18, went on to beat Marin Cilic (ATP-12) in a repeat of the Davis Cup match two weeks ago.

This time, Goffin sent Cilic packing in straight sets: 7-6 (7/4) and 6-2. Goffin next meets Milos Raonic (ATP-14) of Canada, who beat Gaël Monfils of France. Goffin met Roanic just once before on the circuit, in 2014, beating the Canadian in 3 sets.

Indian Wells is a hard court event that is ranked just below the traditional 4 Grand Slam tournaments.
