Wickmayer wins Japanese Open
Our compatriot Yanina Wickmayer (WTA-86) has won the Japanese Open Tennis Championship. She beat the Pole Magda Linette (WTA-84) in three sets. The Japanese Open Tennis Championship the fourth WTA title of Yanina Wickmayer’s career and her first WTA title in five years.
The final in Japan was the Fleming’s tenth WTA final.
Her previous WTA final victors were at the gravel tournament in the Portuguese town of Estoril in 2009, the hardcourt tournament in the Austrian city of Linz, also in 2009, and the hardcourt tournament in Auckland, New Zealand in 2010.
