Goffin through, Bemelmans and Wickmayer out

It was a day of mixed fortunes for the Belgians at the French Open in Paris. While David Goffin beat the Serb Filip Krajinović in 4 sets? The 3-6, 6-2, 7(7)-6(3), 6-1 score means that Davin Goffin is the first Belgian through to the second round of the Grand Slam tournament.

Earlier in the day, Yanina Wickmayer (WTA 78) lost in two set to the Ukrainian Slina Svitolina (WTA – 21) It was an easy 6-2, 6-2 victory for Svitolina.

Ruben Bemelmans (ATP-95) too fell at the first hurdle. The German Benjamin Becker proved too strong for the Limburger. Bemelmans was beaten in 5 sets 3-6, 7(7)-6(5), 6-2, 6(4)-7(7), 2-6.
