A good result for Bruges in Denmark

Club Bruges are almost certain of a place in the last 16 of the Europa League, after beating AaB Aalborg 1-3 in Denmark. Belgian champions Anderlecht, referred to the Europa League after taking 3rd place in their Champions League group, were held to a draw (0-0) by Dynamo Moscow.

Club Bruges received an early warning by Aalborg, but struck twice before the half hour had passed. First, young striker Obbi Oulare made the most from a misunderstanding between the Aalborg goalkeeper and his defenders (photo). Playmaker Lior Refaelov doubled the score with a thundering 'banana shot' just 5 minutes later.

Bruges next controlled the game, building up a 0-3 lead after a Danish own-goal, before the home team pulled one back through a Nicklas Helenius penalty, 1-3.

Anderlecht had the better chances against Dynamo Moscow, that hadn't played an official match in two months due to the long Russian winter break. However, playmaker Youri Tielemans, veteran midfielder Steven Defour and Serb striker Aleksandar Mitrovic failed to score. Everything remains possible in the return match, although Anderlecht have the feeling they missed a good opportunity before their home crowd.
