Alex McLeish sees Genk take 3 points (and that's it)

In football, the Scottish coach at the helm of KRC Genk, Alex McLeish, steered the Limburgers to a 2-0 victory against Moeskroen-Péruwelz. The win puts Genk back in the top-6 of the table. In other action, revelations KV Kortrijk were held to a goalless draw by Charleroi in a disappointing match.

"Watching this game could be the ideal treatment for people with insomnia", a football tweeted during Genk-Moeskroen. Genk picked up the 3 points, but failed to impress. Young Belgian striker Siebe Schrijvers put Genk 1-0 ahead just before the break, with midfielder Benji De Ceulaer adding a second one after the break.

In other action, revelations KV Kortrijk failed to break the strong Charleroi defence, 0-0. Westerlo stunned Zulte-Waregem 1-3 in Waregem, a win that Westerlo needed badly in the battle against relegation. Sporting Lokeren managed to win again, after a long spell without a victory, 0-1 at KV Mechelen, keeping the top-6 within reach.

Lierse SK and Waasland-Beveren, two teams poised to be relegated, kept it at 1-1, a mental boost for Waasland after coming 1-0 behind. Lierse saw the debut of the former Spanish international Capdevila, who won the World Cup with Spain in 2010.
