Club Brugge on top of the world

Club Brugge are on top of the Belgian First Division this Monday after beating Waasland-Beveren at home 4-2. Anderlecht are second after they suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat away at Charleroi.

AA Gent are in third position after they thrashed Cercle Brugge 4-0 at home. Lokeren that drew 0-0 against Westerlo at the weekend are fourth. Racing Genk thrashed KV Mechelen at home 3-0, while an inspired Oostende beat Standard de Liège 3-2 at home.

In other play Moeskroen-Péruwelz experienced a good night winning 2-1 against Lierse at home. The derby involving Kortrijk and Zulte Waregem was settled in Kortrijk’s favour. Kortrijk won the match 3-1.

At the bottom of the First Division Lierse and Cercle Brugge are in danger of relegation with Zulte Waregem just outside the relegation zone thanks to a better goal difference.
