The discovery was made in Sheikh Abd el-Qurna, near Luxor. A relief carving was found featuring the Minister while he offers his praises to a god.

Egyptologists already knew quiet a lot about Minister Khay’s life and work. They had already dug up a statue of him. However, the location of his grave had remained a mystery.
