The 30.000th Last Post: facts & figures
Thursday 9 July will see the 30,000th Last Post ceremony taking place at Ieper's Menin Gate. The Last Post was installed in 1928 to honour those that perished in the First World War. The buglers have, since then, performed the ceremony every single day, except for the period covered by the German occupation during the Second World War.
