Arsonist at work in block of flats?
Eleven people had to be hospitalised as a result of a fire in a block of flats in Niel (Antwerp Province). Two people even had to be reanimated. The suspicion is that the blaze was the work of an arsonist.
The fire broke out at 2AM. Fire-fighters were soon at the scene and swiftly gained control of the blaze. They found a mattress under the stairs at the entrance to the building. It had caught fire and created a lot of smoke.
It's the fourth time that the block has been set alight. On earlier occasions refuse and paper were found to be burning. An investigation into arson was initiated. This is the first time that anybody was injured.
