King Filip becomes godfather of first seventh son
King Filip of the Belgians has become the godfather of a seventh son for the first time. In Belgium it is customary that the monarch becomes the godfather of the seventh son in a row in one and the same family.

On 14 January the Moundai Family from Anderlecht (Brussels) was blessed with twins. The eldest of the two twins, Haroun, is officially the seventh son of the family. His younger twin brother is the eighth. King Filip will serve as the godfather of the seventh son only.
The honour is only bestowed if a family has seven sons in a row and that this sequence is not interrupted. If a family has seven daughters in a row Queen Mathilde will be asked to serve as the godmother.
