John Cleese (76) raring to go in Belgium

British comedian John Cleese has spoken with VRT's Peter Decroubele ahead of his five scheduled appearances in Belgium soon. Listen to John Cleese by clicking on the tab below right.

Cleese is popular in the English-speaking world and in the Nordic countries, but has taken his time setting up shows in Belgium. Quizzed by Decroubele he concedes he possibly should have started here earlier. Cleese promises a lot of new stuff during his shows and will also be discussing comedy that is not politically correct.

The Briton is also eager to discover the difference between 'Flemish folk' and the 'Walloons' when he dialogs with his audience. Cleese has been living outside Europe since last September, so don't expect any comedy centring on the refugee crisis or Brexit. Still, he insists he is ready for Belgium and its diverse audiences.

John Cleese performs at the Bozar in Brussels on 5 May with the show "Last time to see me before I die"
