Double murder in Aartrijke
The otherwise rather sleepy West Flemish village of Aartrijke is coming to terms with the news that it has been the scene of a double murder. It has now emerged that a 35-year-old man has made full confessions following the killing of his 41-year-old sister and 69-year-old husband.
The couple were shot dead in their home on Thursday. The motive of the killing is still shrouded in mystery. The perpetrator handed himself in to police yesterday. He is known to have been battling addiction. There is speculation that the killings occurred after a row escalated.
