Faith and politics banned from hairdressing salons!

What do you talk about at the barber's or the hairdresser's? Well, if you are a customer of the Olivier Dachkin hairdressers' chain there are two subjects that are now firmly off the menu. The company has now banned its workers from discussing politics or religion with their clients.

While you are stuck in the hairdresser's chair there is time for a good natter. The neighbours, work or the latest showbiz gossip... these are all topics that are regularly touched on. Politics too is a popular subject, but it can lead to heated debates and the hairdressers Olivier Dachkin now want to keep this subject out of salons.

A spokesman for the company told the Belgian press agency Belga: "Politics only leads to discussions. If clients touch on the subject our hairdressers have the task of steering the conversation away from this topic as quickly as possible. It's better to talk about the weather or hairdressing or the family."
