Goals galore in Wednesday’s football clashes

Belgian football fans were treated to a plethora of goals in last night’s Jupiler Pro League competition. During the 5 matches, no less than 22 goals were scored. Anderlecht, Lokeren and Gent secure their spots in the league table top 6.

Anderlecht managed to grab 3 points for the first time in 4 games. They did however, have to put in a lot of hard work against a strong Kortrijk. Eventually, Anderlecht won by 2-3.

AA Gent grabbed the second place in the league table last night after a very convincing victory against Waasland-Beveren. AA Gent managed to score 4 times, Waasland-Beveren only once.

Oostende had not managed a win in its last five games, but made up for their losing streak in last night’s match against Westerlo. The seaside football team won by 4-0. However, Westerlo keeps their spot in the top 6.

Standard is ready to enter the top 6 after their second victory in a row. Cercle-Brugge had to admit defeat in the last minutes and lost by 0-1.

Lokeren has taken the third spot in the league tables after winning from Charleroi by 5-2.
