Belgian uses spray plane to complete Ice Bucket Challenge

A 51-year-old Belgian is in hospital in Catalonia after an ice bucket challenge went terribly wrong. Instead of using the normal bucket of ice cold water a spray aircraft was employed.

The Belgian decided to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in Catalonia (Spain). The victim enlisted the services of a friend who was also a pilot and got a spray plane to drop 1,500 litres of water over the man. The spray plane is usually employed to combat forest fires.

The large amount of water knocked the guy for six. He fell and lost consciousness. As if by miracle he didn't sustain any internal injuries and is now convalescing in hospital in Gerona.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is being staged to collect funds for ALS research. ALS is an incurable disease.
