Antwerp seen from space
The Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has given his 648,000 followers on the social network site Twitter the chance to get to know Antwerp. Mr Hadfield took a unique photo of Antwerp by night from the International Space Station ISS. The photo shows the city lights and the River Schelde as seen from space.
The Canadian not only displayed his prowess as a photographer, but also his knowledge of geography in his tweet. He both identified Antwerp and the River Schelde that flows through the port city.
The astronaut has something of a reputation when it comes to social media. He often takes photographs from the ISS and publishes them on the worldwide wide.
Previously, he tweeted photographs of places in Brazil and Italy when the ISS flew over.
