The study day was look at air quality both inside and outside and came to the conclusion that around 15% of lung cancer cases are result from poor air quality.

The Foundation against Cancer notes that although air quality in Belgium has improved in recent years, concentrations of particular matter are still above the recommended levels.

Another interesting conclusion reached during the study day is that the air inside buildings is often more polluted than the air outside. The Foundation’s Dr Nagels advises people to air their homes daily and to avoid smoking inside or using chemical products to clean their homes.
