Brussels Airlines to launch flights to Ghana

From the last week in October Brussels Airlines with launch a further addition to its selection of West African routes with the introduction of a four times a week services between Zaventem, near Brussels and the Ghanaian capital Accra.

From 26 October there will be direct services to Accra every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Airbus A330 aircraft will be used on the new route. Accra will become Brussels Airlines’ 16th West African destination.

Ghana is developing fast economically and is becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination. Brussels Airlines says that the flights will contribute to better trade relations between Belgium and Ghana.

Brussels Airlines will also increase the frequency of its flights to other West African destinations. From the end of October the number of flights to the capital of Togo Lomé will be doubled from two to four. Meanwhile, the number of flights to Cotonou in Benin and Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso will be increased from two to three per week.

Elsewhere, Brussels Airline flights to the Kenyan capital Nairobi will cease from the end of October. From then SWISS (like Brussels Airlines a Lufthansa-daughter) will provide the Zaventem to Nairobi.
