Stromae performs in front of 6,000 in Congolese capital

The Belgian singer Stromae treated 6,000 of his fans to a concert in the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday evening. Stomae had been due to perform in Kinshasa in June, but was forced to cancel his concert due to ill health.

Now with a successful North American tour under his belt, Stromae returned to Kinshasa to perform for some of his many Congolese fans. The fact that the concert stated several hours late failed to dampen the enthusiasm

During a press conference on Sunday, Stromae broke his silence about the fall he suffered while he was in the United States. He said that he fell while jumping.

In addition to the Kinshasa concert that was cancelled, two further African concerts that were due to have been held between mid-June and early August were cancelled, as were a number of North American concert dates.

On Sunday evening more than 6,000 Congolese were rewarded for their patience with a concert that started four hours late at 10pm rather than 6pm.

Some fans had started to fear that the concert would be cancelled again. However, from 10pm to midnight Stromae put his best foot forward in front on an enthusiastic crowd.
