544 people caught using drugs at Tomorowland festival
According to figures released on Monday 544 people were caught using drugs at this summer’s Tomorowland dance music festival in Boom (Antwerp Province). This is just a small fraction of the thousands of music-lovers from far and wide that attended the festival.
All of those caught for the possession or possession or use of drugs were issued with fines. 240 people caught with cannabis were each fined 75 euro.
Another 300 festival-goers that were caught with other drugs received fines of 150 euro. The Antwerp Judicial Authorities say that 80% of those that were fined for drug offences at the festival have already paid up.
